A /now page is a snapshot — what I'm focused on at this point in my life. Updated irregularly.

Work

At iCapital, I just wrapped a 6-month Terraform migration of our entire Snowflake footprint — 356 objects across 3 production accounts. The interesting next step is plumbing through to the rest of the team, so PRs against TF replace Slack messages to me. Slow, satisfying work.

The bigger arc on the platform side is a medallion redesign and an open-table-format migration. Both are early. Both will probably take longer than I'm planning for.

Data Control Hub keeps growing — 4 engineers actively using it, expanding team-wide. It's becoming the foundation for the AI-assisted platform tooling we're starting to build.

Building

Project Hestia just shipped. The site you're reading runs on it, along with Demeter (recipes), Ares (workouts), and Gaia (the auth + DB + nginx underneath). All four are live behind a single wildcard cert on a Hetzner box.

Next: backups, restore drills, uptime monitoring — the unsexy half of running your own infrastructure. After that, deep-dive writeups for the projects I've already shipped, then Hermes (a personal-finance app) joins the platform.

Reading

Currently in the Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi. Just finished Project Hail Mary.

Listening

Bass-forward stuff. Linkin Park, always.

Outside of screens

Learning to cook proper South Indian food — specifically getting the tempering timing right. The mustard seeds pop window is about 3 seconds wide and I've overshot it more times than I'd like to admit.

Playing bass. Nothing serious, just working through jazz standards to stay musical.

Curious about

How to make the internet safer for elders being scammed. Don't have a project here yet, just paying attention.
